Sun City Camp: A Comfortable Bedouin Retreat

We stayed in a traditional Bedouin-style tent that was as comfortable as any modern hotel room, albeit a bit smaller. The interior was thoughtfully designed with cozy furnishings, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—perfect for a good night’s sleep after a long day in the desert. One of the advantages of our accommodation was the individual temperature control in our tent. This feature allowed us to adapt quickly from the scorching heat during the day to the chilly desert nights. It was much appreciated when temperatures dropped into the 30s°F. The overall layout of the camp was inviting, featuring a spacious dome-style dining room and an outdoor fire pit area where guests could gather over a warm cup of tea.

Culinary Delights Under the Desert Sky

Dining at Sun City Camp was an experience to remember. Haytham ensured that every meal was served with impeccable care—from the hearty breakfast and satisfying lunch to our amazing dinner. One of the highlights was the traditional Zarb dinner. We had the rare pleasure of watching as our meal was excavated from the ground—a truly unique and authentic experience that connected us with the ancient culinary traditions of the Bedouin. The flavors and presentation of the Zarb were impressive and truly showcased the rich heritage of Wadi Rum.

Exceptional Service and Early Departure Perks

Our experience was further elevated by the thoughtful service. Knowing we had an early departure the next day, Haytham went above and beyond to serve us a full, hot breakfast early in the morning, ensuring we left with a satisfied appetite and warm spirits. Every interaction with the staff was friendly and attentive, reinforcing the camp’s reputation for genuine hospitality.
