After a long day of exploring the stunning wildlife on Espanola Island, we were eager to find a spot that could offer a delicious meal with a touch of island charm. The Post Office, a popular eatery in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, turned out to be the perfect choice.

The Post Office Cozy and Welcoming Atmosphere
Located near the town’s main streets, The Post Office immediately stood out with its casual, inviting vibe. The décor was a quirky mix of rustic charm and nautical touches, paying homage to the rich maritime history of the Galápagos. The friendly staff welcomed us warmly and seated us at a cozy table where we could unwind after our adventures.

The restaurant had a laid-back atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We noticed a mix of locals and visitors dining there, a testament to its reputation for great food and a friendly ambiance. We immediately recognized the relationship with Golden Prague where we also dined while we were in Quito. Our server acknowledged that the two restaurants are part of the same chain.
A Flavorful Island Feast at The Post Office
The menu at The Post Office featured a delightful selection of dishes that celebrated local flavors. We started with a refreshing ceviche, packed with fresh seafood and tangy citrus notes that perfectly complemented the warm evening. I don’t eat seafood, but my wife and my son seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

For our mains, we opted for fish and chips, steak and the house special Brujo De Galapagos (Scorpion fish). The fish was expertly prepared and seasoned with bold, tropical flavors. The portions were generous, and the side dishes—such as plantains and rice—added a comforting touch to the meal. My steak was a bit on the tough side, but I found that to be the case throughout Ecuador.

A Memorable Island Dining Experience
Dining at The Post Office was more than just a meal—it was an experience that captured the heart of San Cristóbal. The combination of fresh, flavorful food, warm hospitality, and a charming setting made it a standout moment of our trip. The craft beer from Golden Prague was also excellent. My son and I both enjoyed the Black Lager which was light and robust.

Whether you’re a foodie looking for local cuisine or simply searching for a relaxed place to enjoy a meal after exploring the Galápagos, The Post Office is well worth a visit. It’s a place where delicious flavors and friendly vibes come together to create unforgettable memories.
