Our cabin was a delightful blend of simplicity and thoughtful details. The wooden structure, adorned with local craftsmanship, was spacious and well-ventilated, allowing us to enjoy the fresh rainforest air. Equipped a private bathroom, and a small veranda overlooking the jungle, the room was both cozy and functional.

The lodge also featured communal spaces, including a dining area, a lounge with hammocks, and a small. The lodge was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The overall atmosphere was peaceful, making it an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Immersive Activities

Huasquila Lodge offers a variety of activities that immerse guests in the natural and cultural richness of the Amazon. One of the highlights of our stay was a guided hike through the rainforest, where we learned about the diverse flora and fauna. Our knowledgeable guide shared fascinating insights into the ecosystem and its importance to the planet. We even had the opportunity to eat ants!

We also had the opportunity to visit a local Kichwa community, where we gained a deeper understanding of their traditions and way of life. The interaction was both educational and humbling, as we participated in traditional dances and learned about the sustainable practices they’ve maintained for generations.

Another unforgettable experience was the night walk, which revealed the Amazon’s nocturnal side. Armed with flashlights, we spotted frogs, insects, and even heard the distant calls of owls and other wildlife. It was a thrilling way to connect with the jungle’s hidden wonders.

Because of nationwide rolling blackouts, we were without power six hours per day, but the lodge did a good job of minimizing the inconvenience of the power outages.
