Ranti Coffee Shop: Locally Sourced Beans, Great Atmosphere

Amid the stunning landscapes and wildlife adventures of San Cristóbal in the Galápagos, we stumbled upon a delightful coffee shop. Ranti Coffee Shop, nestled in the heart of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, offered not just exceptional coffee but a warm and inviting atmosphere that was perfect for a midday break.

A Cozy Island Escape at Ranti Coffee Shop

From the moment we stepped into Ranti, we were charmed by its cozy and artistic vibe. The walls were adorned with colorful artwork and rustic decor. Coffee processing displays showing various aspects of the coffee industry were found throughout the small cafe. The combination of natural wood accents and local design elements made the space feel both trendy and relaxed.

The seating options were varied, with comfortable chairs and intimate tables perfect for small groups or solo visitors. We stopped to visit several times during our stay in San Cristobal and were never disappointed. It was the ideal spot to recharge after a morning of exploring.

Exceptional Coffee and Local Flavors

As coffee enthusiasts, we were thrilled to discover that Ranti takes pride in serving high-quality, locally sourced coffee. Their menu featured a range of options, from classic espressos to indulgent iced coffees and lattes. On our final visit, we opted for an iced mocha and a tangerine coffee, both of which were expertly crafted. The rich, smooth flavor of the coffee was a testament to the care and skill of the baristas. I was particularly surprised that I liked the blend of citrus and coffee. While it sounded a bit extreme to me, the flavors complemented each other well.

In addition to coffee, Ranti offered a selection of fresh pastries and snacks. On our first visit, my son and I shared a slice of vegan chocolate cake. The cake was moist and delicious. The shop also featured some unique Galápagos-inspired treats, showcasing local ingredients and flavors. As a bonus, we were able to pick up a bottle of coffee-infused rum that was also produced locally. The rum is aged in US-sourced oak barrels.

Our visit to Ranti Coffee Shop was more than just a coffee break—it was a chance to connect with the island’s culture. The friendly staff, delicious offerings, and relaxed ambiance made it a place we were tempted to revisit again and again. The staff are often drawn from among the families who grow the beans. This was the case with the young lady who was working on our first visit to the shop.
